Juicy Keto Burger with Keto Burger Bun
I love a good burger. There may be nothing I love more than sinking my teeth into a freshly grilled hamburger at the end of a long day. The smell of the burger cooking on the grill, the fun of a cookout and the overall ease of burgers as a meal….it’s all just great.
Of course, I don’t think that a burger is really complete without a perfect bun. That can be tricky when you are following a keto diet. Many hamburger recipes out there will have you just wrap the burger in a piece of lettuce or skip any kind of “burger holder”. But, to me, a plain burger on a plate just isn’t cutting it- I need that bun!
This recipe for keto hamburgers and keto hamburger buns will help you get the juicy burger that you are craving and the bun that you desperately want (okay, okay that I desperately want). Best of all, it is all low carb! So you can bite into that burger and not worry about breaking your diet or falling out of ketosis. How do you make this magical bun? Simple.
The buns are actually super easy to make (you may want to keep this recipe in mind for other times when you need a bun). The almond flour, psyllium husk powder, baking powder and salt are all mixed together then the wet ingredients are added. The dough should look and feel like playdough- nice and soft but tough enough to hold its shape.
To make perfectly sized buns, used a large ice cream scooper to scoop and portion the burger dough. This will make each keto hamburger bun uniform in size and the exact size that you need for your hamburger. Be sure to use our little tip in the recipe and dip the ice cream scooper in warm water before scooping the dough. This will help keep the scoop clean and prevent the dough from sticking all over the scoop and messing up your beautiful buns!
The burger buns are baked until they are golden brown and then ready to slice and serve! You can eat them right out of the oven while they are nice and toasty warm. They will go perfectly with your hot, fresh burger.
The burger part of our recipe is just as easy to put together. All the ingredients are mixed together and formed into patties. The little bit of Worcestershire sauce in the recipe gives these low carb burgers a distinct and delicious taste while the erythritol adds a hint of sweetness that will be totally irresistible. I know you are going to love the seasoning mix that we have put into this burger!
Our recipe tells you exactly how to cook them in a skillet (which is a great method for year round cooking!) but you can definitely toss these on the grill as well- I have many times! Slice one of those keto hamburger buns in half and put it on the grill as well. There is nothing like a perfectly charred burger on top of a toasted bun!
Give these keto burgers a try next time you are craving some delicious red meat served up with a soft, toasty bun. Of course, we want to hear all about how much you love this recipe so tell us in the comments below! Snap a pic of your and your keto burger too- we love to see our recipes in action! Enjoy.
