Sip, sip, hooray! In September, Coopers Brewery announced it would introduce its own brand of beer into Australia’s low-carb adult beverage category. The introduction of their new beer signals a change in focus, as people’s mindsets change to low-carb, high-quality options. Coopers Dry, their new beer, also marks the withdrawal of Coopers Clear, offering a focus change both for manufacturers and consumers, alike. With its light blend of lemon and lime flavors with subtle floral aromas, Cooper Dry is sure to impress.
Coopers Dry Joins the Ranks of the Low-Carb Beer
The 2017-2018 fiscal year proved to be financially fruitful for the low-carb beer industry, as nearly 20 million cases were sold in Australia. Coopers looks to meet growing public demand as, in recent years, health-conscious individuals are looking for cleaner alternatives to traditional brews.
Coopers’ sales and marketing director, Cam Pearce says, “Dry or low-carb beers currently represent more than 15 percent of the total Australian beer market, but there are relatively few brands from which consumers can choose.” Coopers Dry seeks to break the mold offering full-bodied flavor with far fewer calories and carbs per serving, thus meeting consumer demand head-on.
Full Flavor, No Compromise
Coopers Dry is an entirely new beer that Coopers Brewery has been developing, using highly fermentable Pilsner malt as the foundation of the beer. It’s then fermented for an extended period of time, which allows a unique strain of yeast to consume and absorb all fermentable sugars1. The result? A clean and dry finish unlike any other.
Pearce says, “Dry beers are now well established in the market. Coopers Dry will offer consumers a premium quality alternative, and we expect it will be well received.” Like other popular low-carb lagers, Coopers Dry contains just 3.3 grams of net carbs and 103 calories per 12-ounce bottle serving. Designed to offer a refreshing flavor with a natural, crisp taste2, Coopers Dry was released across Australia in cans, kegs, and bottles last month.
