Model, entrepreneur, and former adult film star Jenna Jameson has recently dropped a ton of weight and revealed her new body on Instagram. She went from 187 pounds to a svelte 127 pounds after the birth of her third child, and the star revealed that the secret to her transformation wasn’t pills or surgery, but a low-carb diet and intermittent fasting.
Inspiration from family
As a mother, Jameson knows firsthand how difficult it can be to lose weight while chasing after kids. On her Instagram, Jameson was inspired to start on her health journey after the birth of her third child, Batel Lu, in April of 2017. After failing to lose the baby weight on traditional diets, Jameson began a low-carb regimen, featuring filling fats, plenty of water, and an intermittent daily fast. The results, which Jameson showed off on her Instagram account, couldn’t be more stunning—the hot mommy is down 60 pounds and revealed that she has no plans to reintroduce sugar into her diet. 1
A “boring” diet
When it comes to her daily meal plan, Jameson admitted that fans may be a bit underwhelmed by her culinary choices. The model and entrepreneur prefers to stick with her favorites in the kitchen and rarely switches up the menu. Focusing on consuming wholesome and filling low-carb favorites, Jameson showcased her hard work on Instagram. 1
“I am one of those odd people that doesn’t need variety. Every morning I eat the exact same thing. Three eggs with cheese and an avocado,” she explained. For lunch, the mother of three usually munches on “arugula salad, grilled asparagus or zucchini with some kind of meat (usually a hamburger patty or grilled chicken).” When it’s time for bed, Jameson stays hydrated by “drinking lots of water” until she breaks her fast at 8 AM with a morning cup of joe.1
Jameson stressed that there was no magic “trick” or surgery involved with her weight loss—just good old fashioned diet monitoring and exercise.
“This is 60 pounds gone, my friend. It can be done!”
The ketogenic diet and weight-loss
So, what is the keto diet anyways? Keto (short for “ketogenic diet”) is a specialty diet that focuses on consuming fewer carbs, more fat, and medium amounts of protein to promote satiety. It’s a commonly prescribed diet for those who need to lose a significant amount of weight quickly in anticipation of surgery, a movie role, or an upcoming special event. Following a low-carb, low-sugar diet like Jameson’s has been found to be an effective way to shed weight and feel fuller while doing so.2
