Seafood lovers take note! Incorporating more seafood into your diet just got a little bit easier. SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood Company, one of the United States' top retailers of frozen seafood, has recently introduced their new SeaPak Selections line, which aims to offer more health-conscious alternatives to dieters looking to enjoy their favorites while consuming fewer calories. Available from Kroger and Meijer supermarkets all across the country, there's no doubt that this new line will be on America's plates soon enough. But how does it compare to the shrimp and fish recipes that made SeaPak famous? Read on to learn if this new line is worth trying!
A new take on seafood
In an interview announcing the launch of SeaPak Selections, marketing manager Leslie Harris confirmed that their inspiration behind the new line was working parents and busy professionals, who need a quick pick-me-up after a long day. The aim behind SeaPak Selections is to introduce a healthier option that can be pre-purchased and ready to go as soon as consumers come home.
“At SeaPak, we believe in inspiring relaxed living and mindful eating,” Thomas said, “and one way we do that is by providing consumers with quick-and-easy solutions when it comes to making healthy eating decisions. For anyone seeking nutritious and delicious seafood, SeaPak Selections are the perfect choices.”
How does it compare to the original?
The new line of SeaPak Selections is a stark departure from the company's flagship product lines, which consist of battered and fried butterfly shrimp, fish sticks, and other such indulgences. Instead of using battering to add flavor, the SeaPak Selections line focuses on taking advantage of low-calorie marinades, spices, and dry rubs to add the zest and taste that consumers look for. SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood Company made a statement in their latest press release confirming that their new health-conscious line will not sacrifice flavor for body benefits.
The new menu features everything from lemon pepper shrimp to salmon burgers made with real Alaskan salmon. In addition, four of their new items (Lemon Pepper Shrimp, Creamy Garlic Shrimp, Alaskan Salmon Burgers, and Sesame Ginger Salmon) have no added dyes, artificial flavors, or preservatives.
Is it keto?
As every ketogenic dieter knows, most seafood is an excellent source of healthy fats to keep you feeling full throughout the day. But what are the carbohydrate counts on the new line from SeaPak? The following are the carb contents from their new line:
Lemon Pepper Shrimp- 5g per serving.
Creamy Garlic Shrimp- 4g per serving.
Alaskan Salmon Burgers- 0g per serving.
Sesame Ginger Salmon- 5g per serving.
Maryland Style Crab Cakes- 8g per serving.
SeaPak's offerings reflect a growing trend, driven by consumer desires, for low-carb food options.
