Perfect Morning Omelet

When you wake up in the morning, you want to start your day right with a healthy, tasty, and easy breakfast. Of course, you need it to be low carb too! However, one of the most important things about a good breakfast is that it is easy. Many mornings are rushed or simply sleepy- no one wants to spend hours making breakfast! That is why this omelet is perfect. It fits all the breakfast food necessities and is pretty easy too! To make sure that you have amazing omelet results, take a quick look at these tips and tricks.

Anyone who has ever made an omelet before has surely had a few mishaps. Rather than a perfectly flat omelet with all the filling nestled nicely in the center, you end up with a falling apart, egg mash-up that more closely resembles scrambled eggs. These tips will help you avoid that, giving you that picture-worthy spinach and goat cheese omelet you are after.

Low Carb Spinach & Goat Cheese Omelet

The first key to making a successful omelet is to start with a hot pan. You really want to let your pan preheat before pouring the whisked egg mixture in. When the pan is hot, the eggs will begin to cook immediately, making for an evenly cooked omelet. A hot pan will also help ensure that the eggs don’t stick to the bottom as the grease in the pan has had time to get soft and become liquid, creating a barrier between the eggs and pan.

The next trick to a perfect omelet is to whisk the eggs, cream, salt, and pepper together well. Many people crack the eggs right into the pan, whisking the cream into the eggs in the same pan you will be cooking in. This is a mistake! When you whisk the eggs and cream in a separate bowl, you allow them to blend fully which will lead to a fluffier omelet. Pouring the mix into the hot pan after combining will also prevent the eggs from sticking to the bottom of the pan as you can pour and then leave them alone to cook, keeping that fat barrier between the pan and eggs untouched.

Once your whisked eggs are in your hot pan, cover the pan. Doing this will trap in heat, helping cook the surface of the omelet as well as the bottom. When you uncover the pan, you will see that the eggs have set fully, giving you an omelet that is guaranteed to be cooked all the way through. Use a large, flexible egg spatula to help lift half of the omelet, folding it over the filling.

These simple tips will make your omelet a total win, starting your morning off on the right foot. So grab your skillet, whisk those eggs and get the spinach and goat cheese ready- this is bound to be one of your new favorite breakfast options!
