Coconut chocolate chip bars are a delicious treat!
One of the most common misconceptions is that a low carb diet means that you can NEVER enjoy a delicious dessert from time-to-time. This is the furthest thing from the truth! The most important thing to remember when it comes to keeping it low carb is that so long as you make the proper substitutions, you can definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. Coconut chocolate chip bars are just another tasty example.
This recipe is the perfect blend of yummy flavors. Coconut and chocolate come together to create a delicious treat that has all the sweetness you could ask for. However, you'll be happy to know that this is a sugar-free dessert. Instead of white sugar, the recipe calls for liquid stevia and powdered erythritol.
Liquid stevia is no-calorie and happens to be much sweeter than traditional sugar. Powdered erythritol happens to be a sugar alcohol that is zero calories and zero carbs. Both prove to be smarter options when it comes to sweetening our favorite desserts!
For those of you are who less familiar with low carb ingredients, you may wonder about xanthan gum as well. This is a thickening food additive that helps bread-like foods stick together. Because low carb recipes avoid white flour, this is an excellent additive because it gives you that same cake-like texture you may be used to.
Now back to the recipe! Coconut chocolate bars not only taste great, but they are super easy to whip up. Simply mix all the delicious ingredients and pop it in the oven. The hardest part will be waiting for the bars to cool completely before enjoying them! This particular recipe makes up 16 bars, so it's an excellent option when baking for a crowd.
Bake up your own batch and enjoy this incredible blend of deliciousness!
